A systematic study of uranium in groundwater and its correlation with other water quality parameters

Abstract A parametric investigation was carried out to estimate the Uranium concentration and other associated water quality parameters for groundwater in Deoghar district, Jharkhand. total of 150 samples have been collected from dig wells, hand pumps, tube etc. pre post-monsoon seasons. Quantalase analyzer used measure uranium concentration. The distribution pH, TDS, DO, nitrate, sulfate, uranium, along with radiation, has determined. It found that varies 0.10 11.30ppb pre-monsoon 0.15–6.50ppb post-monsoon, which is well below normal tolerance limit (i.e.30 ?g/l WHO). This low availability attributed existence a lesser number rocks containing as source area.
